People often ask me where I get my inspiration. Since I’m so often inspired by other women, I started the “Fuel My Imagination” series to share a little bit about women who inspire me and how each one wears my jewelry in her own way.
Who: Michelle Hayes, owner of Sweet Lime Portrait Design. I first wandered into this photography studio soon after it opened in a neighborhood shopping center near my home about 8 years ago. I needed a head shot, so I decided to give it a try. When I went to pick up my prints, Michelle and I got to talking and hit it off right away. We chatted about her plans for the studio, and I told her about my fledgling jewelry business and how hard it had been to find a good photographer with rates I could afford. One thing led to another, and before long, I was back with my entire jewelry collection and my daughter in tow as a model. Since then, Michelle has become my go-to photographer and has photographed most of my lookbooks. Although her studio focuses on child and family portraits, she’s been amazingly flexible, receptive to my offbeat requests, and creative about accomplishing what I need within a budget that works for me. Each time we do a shoot, the end result is a little better than the time before. And we’re currently in the midst of working on something new and exciting for both of us (which I’ll share more about later!). By now, Michelle is an integral part of my business, and, besides that, it’s been so much fun getting to know her along the way. At this point, I’d be lost without her!
What She’s Wearing: My freshwater pearl and cubic zirconia cluster pendant, champagne cubic zirconia teardrop earrings, and several simple chain bracelets.
