People often ask me where I get my inspiration. Since I’m so often inspired by other women, I started the “Fuel My Imagination” series to share a little bit about women who inspire me and how each one wears my jewelry in her own way.
Who: My friend Meredith Wadman. We met on an airplane headed from Seattle to Washington DC more than 18 years ago, got to chatting, found out that we lived near each other and had some things in common, and have been friends every since. Meredith is one of the most accomplished and talented people I know. She’s a reporter for Science, one of the world’s top science journals, and her list of degrees, honors, and impressive publications is far too long to go into here (if you’re curious, check out her website). Her first book, The Vaccine Race, was just published by Viking. Aside from all that, Meredith is a loyal friend that I can talk to about anything, a big a fan of my jewelry, and a patient listener to my stern edicts about fashion do’s and don’ts (by mutual agreement, I’ve become her unofficial personal shopper). Our dogs, who are BFFs too, love taking long walks together and appear unaware that my little toy poodle barely reaches her big dogs’ knees. I’m excited to see where Meredith’s career takes her next, and I hope that we stay friends forever.
What She’s Wearing: My multistrand mixed-chain necklace and shell pearl earrings with gold rings.
