People often ask me where I get my inspiration. Since I’m so often inspired by other women, I started the “Fuel My Imagination” series to share a little bit about women who inspire me and how each one wears my jewelry in her own way.
Who: Marianne, my next-door neighbor and an incredible mother to her four kids, ages 3–10. If Marianne were different, living in close proximity to this powerhouse of a mom could cause overwhelming feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, and self-doubt. But that’s just not how she rolls. On the contrary, her laid-back and unpretentious attitude makes her inspiring rather than intimidating, which is probably why she and her family have a million friends, even though they just moved to the area a couple of years ago. In addition to being an energetic, patient, and creative mother, Marianne is funny, smart, and always willing to lend a hand (or an ear) when you need one or both. (And by the way, if you need help moving something heavy, she’s your girl!) Each of her kids is more adorable than the next, and her U.S. Marine husband is the perfect cool dad to complement his supermom wife. I’m going to be so sad when the family leaves our neighborhood this summer for an overseas assignment in Bahrain!
Marianne’s daughters Mimi (age 3) and Reeder (age 10) were nice enough to agree to join our photo shoot. I think you’ll agree that the results are pretty cute!
What they’re wearing: Marianne: 4mm alexandrite stud earrings, mixed-metal charm pendant, lava stone and pearl stretch bracelet, and white turquoise and pearl stretch bracelet. Reeder: aquamarine teardrop earrings. Mimi: 2mm ruby stud earrings.
